Basket Case

Basket case- n.
  1. Slang. One that is in a completely hopeless or useless condition:

Yup, that is the name my husband called me when I bought this basket!

Granted...He said it in a very loving, but frustrated way.

We were in Haiti on a missions trip.

We had brought clothing to leave and didn't have very much stuff to bring home.

"Do you know what customs will do?" He asked.

"They will take all of the other baskets that I am buying out of this big one and search through every single one." I said.

They did.

We missed our connecting flight in Miami.

My Sweetheart didn't even say "I told you so!"
He just rolled his eyes and called me a basket case.

That was many years ago. We are still very happily married and I have added considerably to our basket collection. I continue to use this beautiful large basket. Right now it stores fabric and rolls of paper in my sewing studio.

These lovely picnic baskets store dishes and linens in our breakfast nook.

I use little baskets like the one below.

Baskets in the sewing studio corral a bunch of odds and ends.

From baskets on top of my Fifi Storage unit to the floor of our pantry....big...little....medium size....I think I would be even more of a basket case without them!

How about you?
Do you use baskets to solve your organizational and storage dilemmas?

Guess what? Happy Day....Sweet Angie at Knick of Time featured my Here's My Heart post. If you have not met her yet, you should go right on over and pay her a visit! You will love her vintage goodies!

Baskets can be so versatile, can't they?

All slang aside, the case that can be made for baskets is that they should never live alone - and only the best among us understand that and do more than our part to make sure it is the case!
