Spring Comes to Our Boudoir

Warmer weather ushers changes in our bedroom decor!

Dark and heavy blankets are banished!
Light colored linens take their place.

Our bedroom is painted a beautiful shade of red!
 I adore red!
Laura Ashley Russet 6.
When my sweetheart was painting that first coat on the wall he had one question.....

Are you sure this isn't going to be PINK?

He loved the deep red, too!
Yaaaay!

We use a warm white trim to bring a creamy contrast.

I love to decorate with lots of layers!

This bed hanging starts with a cream sheet, then a lace valance,
then scraps of lace over that!

We found this French Botanical for 20 dollars!!!

Topping all is a white rose garland from Michael's.

My mom bought these luscious sheets for my birthday.

 Soo very soft! Love them!

But, word of caution for those that hate wrinkles! Don't buy 100 % cotton!
I don't mind some messiness when the sheets feel so soft!

The bedspread is a cream matelesaaise...pretty...pretty!

You can buy the sheets online from Wally world,
the set comes with four pillowcases.

This niche was our closet.....we built a walk-in....that left us loads more room for our bed.
My sweetheart built these sweet cubbies....more places for me to decorate....on each side of our bed.

I love creamware!

Our lovely children tease me about needing a step ladder to get in bed!

Just because every one in the family is taller than me doesn't mean I'm short!

There are loads of parties coming up!

Don't miss out on all the fun,

Your bedroom is gorgeous Audrey! I thought it was pink at first, which I love. Red is gorgeous too, wish the true color came through, but it does look red in a few if the shots. Love the little nooks your hubby built.

LOVE your Bedroom. I too adore red and I have it in my Kitchen!!
I do actually have steps to use to get up into my bed!!! And I am 5'6"!!
We have my hubby's grandfather antique bed and then bought a new pillow top mattress. Our bed comes up to my waist. It is as high as a counter bar!!

Hugs,
Deb

What a lovely room! I love the deep raspberry red color. I'm a new follower and would love it if you would follow back and add your post to my Frugal Treasures party.
I'm presently making over my bedroom in blues.

Your bedroom is beautiful, Audrey! Your bed looks so inviting, and on this rainy day we're having, I'd love to climb in for a nap! LOL

The niches were a fantastic idea!

We just bought a new mattress & box spring last week. The bed was so high, it came up to my mid hip. I'm only 5'1", so luckily we were able to exchange the box spring for a low profile version. It dropped everything 5 inches. It's still high, but at least I don't need to get a running start to get in the bed at night! LOL

Hi Audrey,
Your bedroom looks like a wonderful retreat. How fabulous that your husband created those little niches in the wall. Those sheets do looks so soft and comfy. I prefer 100% cotton myself-forget the wrinkles-who sees them? I love red, too!

Gorgeous bedroom. Love the addition of the lace, and the french botanical is so very pretty. So cool you added the niches, love them. Cotton is the only sheets to use. Also love red walls, and this would definitely be a place to snuggle up to someone! Romantic. Thanks for sharing your creative inspiration at Sunday's Best.

Happy Rednesday! I sure think that is such a lovey Romantic looking Red Bedroom. My bed is high as well! It is kind of funny for other people that see it, and think it is crazy tall! I like it though. What a great thing to make a niche from the old closet. Very clever!
Blessings,
Susie
