Antlers and a Birdcage

I don't know what causes it,

but when the seasons begin to change
I just have to change our house around, too!

I start room by room....
 putting different things together....
until I like how it turns out.

Our dog found this set of antlers
 in our woods last year.....
thought I would mix them together
with some dark framed pictures...
 and a black book...
add a hunt scene....
or two....

I found a birdcage.....
sprayed it a flat black....
placed teacups.....
a burlap coffee bag....
and a mercury glass bottle inside...

It looks quite nice
on our  dining room sideboard....for now...

Who says you have to have expensive stuff to decorate with?
Look around you!
You just might have some antlers...
 or birdcages laying around....
happy hunting!

Thank you, Honey at 2805 for featuring my
If you haven't joined her Potpourri Party
go over and give it a whirl!

Hope you have a blessed week!
Audrey

I would say you did an excellent job arranging the table. Love the bird cage, perfect addition to the mix.

Looks great! I understand the itch to change things around when the temperatures change. I can't wait to decorate for Fall!

I'm in the mood to change things up a bit here too. Your are inspiring me. Love the hunt scene pieces!

So happy to have you pop over for a visit!
No doubt.... we think alike.
I love to decorate and am forever changing things. I am normally a shabby chic girl but when fall comes it gives me a chance to use greens, reds and orange tones.
I LOVE your bird cage!! I have a few and they are some of my fav things.
Thanks for sharing your lovely changes with us and for inspiring us to live well with what we already have!!

Oh Audrey I am the same way. Chomping at the bits to start changing out my summer themed decor. Trying to get a few quilts bound so I will wait one more week. Have plans to use one of my birdcages on the mantel. You always do such a fab job with your vignettes. I agree, pull from what you have.
Hugs,
Jann

I love to use things that I already have to freshen things up. Sometimes just putting them in a different room is all it takes! I loved your post on the mercury glass, I am going to try it on some orange pumpkins that are looking bad! Hugs, Penny

I love natural elements like antlers. I have a wasps nest with my antlers on a table right now. Lovely vignette. Visiting from 2805, Olive

Love all the natural elements you used and the black birdcage, as well! I too use antlers (year-round).

Thank you for sharing this lovely vignette at Potpourri Friday!

Such a unique arrangement! You certainly have an artistic touch. I would have never dreamed of putting these things together and they look so gorgeous in a group.

It all looks so pretty! I haven't jumped on the antler bandwagon yet. Thanx for joining THT!
